What happens to the other n-1?

The second largest cause of irritation to the entirety of humankind after Joffrey Baratheon from GOT are the relatives who are ready to take every ounce of credit for your success by recounting stories of how the food you ate daily in school was made by them, of how their going to some baba prevented you from facing problems in daily life, and how you were conceived only after consultation with them. I know, it’s not at all exaggerated, right? But there are some people who genuinely deserve all the credit they can get and sometimes more too.

This article is about them.

There was a time in my life when I did not have a smartphone. But then also, the first thing I did in the morning was check my phone. I am telling you this device is evil to the core. Horcrux, if you would believe me. I woke up and I saw that the devil had 40 missed calls from my mother. All I could think was that something big must have happened. Before all the bad thoughts could come into my mind, I called her and she told me that I had my Physics class in the morning and she was worried that I might miss it. And here I was sleeping peacefully thinking about RCB lifting the IPL trophy. It was me, who eventually had the best experience of my life in my engineering college, but the effort made by my mom, the pep talks of my sister, and the patience of my dad on a daily basis were the things that will never be rewarded except with a “Thank you” by me on some random day.

Sports Teams have support staff, engineers have product managers(I hope I ruffled some feathers over here ), Ministers have officers, aspirants have families, boyfriends have girlfriends, girlfriends have their other girlfriends, but as Arijit Singh wanted to say

Kya har kisi ko mil jaata hain support staff jindagi mein

(Translation: Does everyone get support staff in their lives )

We sometimes aren’t the best support artist. I myself have been guilty of this. But it’s only a pure gold person, who would put his interests behind, who would go behind in the limelight, who would not crib if getting less attention and time, who would not feel sad at doing some extra work daily, who would not mind waking up with you. And there is no scientific reason for it. But it’s just that, sometimes the happiness, satisfaction, and pride on someone’s face are enough for that and you might feel like having become an engineer, doctor, actor, best son, the best parent, best spouse, best friend, or therapist in one single lifetime. Be the supporter you never could get yourself. And IF Karma really is a Bitch, then too you are safe my friend.
