Experience in Implementing Pomodoro

Purpose:

This technique is useful to overcome distractions while working on a project or wanting to understand how long a task takes. It’s ideal for many types of work including writing, coding, design, and study. The technique also works if you have a lot of repetitive work to get through, such as wading through a busy inbox.

Last month I was thinking of starting preparation for GAT General but I was procrastinating even though it was very important for me because I have to attempt my test on 19 Sep 2021. I came to this day when I got to know about this technique. This just gives me a bump to give it a try and check how it goes.

I committed to studying half a chapter of the GAT book. I divided the 1st half chapter into 4 parts and set a timer of 25 mins.

I studied the committed part till the timer rang. After completing 25 mins I felt an achievement and I took 5 mins to break. I completed 20 % of the work.

At this time I got distracted by

I repeated the activity and this time this attempt was better than the previous one because this time zero distraction But still got some distractions. I completed 45% of the work.

I repeated the same and this time disconnected my wifi on my mobile and started studying. This time with almost zero distractions, I completed 80 % of the work.
