Wellness Through Canning

August means peaches here in my world. Every year I visit one of my local farms to buy boxes and boxes of peaches 🍑 It’s my “Annual Peach Pilgrimage”

In the past, I would freeze the peaches before they went bad.

However, last month I took a class to learn how to can peaches. I have been learning tons about canning as a way to preserve food. I love to continue to eat these delicious locally grown peaches throughout the winter months.

I am always looking for ways to continue to work on eating healthy by watching harmful fats and other additive levels in my food.

So, when I was making these beauties I was careful not to use white sugar. The instructor taught us to use honey or maple syrup instead. I am sure there are many other even healthier alternatives.

Over the years I have found that my diet either gives me energy, a better mood, and focus OR it makes me sick and causes serious illness down the line.

When you are building your business your health will become the main ingredient of your success.

Always aim to eat in season and cook at home (cook on Sundays for the whole week — there are tons of meal planning tips on YouTube that will teach you how).

Make it a habit to visit your local farmer’s market or take a mini-trip to a local farm. It’s so satisfying knowing where your food comes from, developing a relationship with your local farmers, and supporting their hard work. And the food tends to have more nutrients than grocery store fruits and vegetables.
