How I was able to control my anger through Mindfulness.

I started learning about mindfulness when I started my practitioner training on Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP) few years ago. Today I will share some tools I learned during my training that helped me control my anger significantly.

Understanding Triggers:

Before learning the mechanism to control anger, its important to know what actually causes anger. This is the most significant step in re discovering your emotions overall. If you are able to find out the triggers, your job is half way done already.

If I had to share my personal experience, I used to get triggered by arguments that I couldn’t win, situation of a conflict, the inability to express my emotions under certain circumstances, losing control of a situation, noisy and loud environment and sometimes I would let the anger out on something else rather than express it in the moments of being triggered.

Now how did I learn all of this?

The key is to observe every single act of yours no matter how happy or sad you are. Keenly look at the little things you do. For example how much time do you spend brushing your teeth or how warm do you like your tea/coffee. Perhaps you can even look at what compels you to scream if something is out of place. Or you have a nagging child roaming around you for attention and you instantly say something abrupt that you don’t even mean.

Once I started to observe my behavior, it really helped me in understanding how my mind and body operates under certain circumstances.
