If Bigfoot Is Discovered Would It Go To The Omaha Zoo?

Eastof72nd.com staff finally answered the burning question on everyone’s mind: if Bigfoot is real and gets discovered, would he end up at Henry Doorly Zoo?

It would only make sense that a newly discovered species would end up at the best zoo in the world.

Suspecting that the Omaha zoo would take one look at this question and figure I was a San Diego zoo operative, I went undercover posing as teacher in eastof72nd.com’s first piece of hard hitting investigative journalism. I pretended to be a teacher who had students that were asking questions about Big Foot. I emailed the zoo’s info@ email address with a question about Bigfoot. Next, I played a waiting game for a couple of days before finally getting a response.

But first, let’s add some context

Bigfoot sightings by state: Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization

Bottom line is

Bigfoot is a mythical beast that everyone wants to be real. And if it is real Omaha deserves it since we’ve got the best zoo in the world which is the Henry Doorly Zoo.

Back to the undercover operation

I sent an email saying that I had a student that moved from San Diego and said that he heard Omaha had the best zoo but that San Diego’s was actually better and that Bigfoot was going to San Diego’s zoo if discovered.

This background information set the stage for the question to be answered by an HZD employee named Troy.

Troy sent us the following email with the subject line: newly discovered species?

Basically, in the email Mr. Solberg, a former zoo keeper and current youth volunteer coordinator with a background in Wildlife Biology and research, from HZD says that the question posed to him is a very good question but tough to answer. Mr. Solberg goes on to say that animals that are difficult to capture and hold in captivity would likely not be brought to the zoo.

Then Solberg begins speaking blasphemy saying that he does not believe in Bigfoot’s existence and essentially that Bigfoot coverage is just fake news spread to get higher ratings.

Mr. Solberg did go onto say that he couldn’t rule out Bigfoot’s existence wholesale and that he did think it was “an awesome myth.”

But reading between the lines it seems pretty unlikely that Bigfoot would go to any zoo but if he did go to a zoo then Omaha may be a top choice.

Questions remain such as would there be a bias towards zoos in close proximity to where Bigfoot gets discovered? What part of the Omaha zoo would Bigfoot be kept? Would zoo visitors need to pay extra to see the Bigfoot exhibit the same way they have to pay more to touch the manta rays or ride the Skyfari? Eastoft72nd.com staff plans to follow up with Mr. Solberg to press him even more on this topic.

Part 2 of this ongoing report will feature snippets of correspondence with officials at the San Diego zoo which competes with the Henry Doorly Zoo for the title of top zoo in the world to see if they’re more bullish on Bigfoot’s existence and/or bullish on the odds of them being selected as the first zoo to exhibit Bigfoot (over Omaha) were it to actually exist.

Stay tuned for more of eastof72nd.com’s hard hitting investigative journalism on the topic!
